So I’ve failed to write in a very long time. Basically school and work have taken over my life and a social life is not really in the cards as of late. Today wasn’t fun at all. I woke up sick and was forced to call-in sick to work, which probably really screwed them over. But what can you do? I literally slept ALL DAY long. Which means I’ll probably be up all night. FML. But at least I’m feeling better.
Its midterms week and the only thing worse than midterms is… well nothing. At least during finals week you don’t have regular class on top of exams. No, you get the days off to study. But during midterms you have to go to class, work, study, and take tests all at once. Fair? I think not (Thank God for on-campus bars and study groups with the same motives as me... Bailey's in your travel-mug anyone?)
Naturally, I’m wearing my exam-taking uniform almost every day. AKA leggings, pink Nike shoes, and a black North Face Jacket. I change it up a little everyday, maybe a different shirt or different leggings, but for the most part this is the only outfit I feel like putting on in the mornings. I used to get dressed for school. Then I realized I could care less about what I look like or who sees me and suddenly my exam-taking uniform became my everyday uniform and in no way is it disappointing.
I think everyone has that one outfit that they would wear everyday if they could. It took me a while but I finally realized that I CAN and have no one to impress at Portland State anyway. I even got a couple pink travel mugs for my coffee--undeniably a very necessary investment (See Bailey's comment above). However, I tell myself everything I buy is necessary. It’s one of the major faults of a shopaholic… which I most definitely am.
I looked to see if I could find a pic of me in my so-called uniform, but I couldn’t. But just to give you all a visual I got some help from my good friend polyvore.com to create what is almost the exact outfit I rock everyday.
Unless I’m at work… then I have to wear a real uniform:
I apologize for creating the most boring blog I have to date. I’ll definitely make it more entertaining next time. For those out there who have fallen victim to the exam-taking uniform, please feel free to share with me yours. I am always on the lookout for a new uni.
Despite the lack of sociality in my life, I did manage to get a good Tubesday in when my Lucy AKA Natalie was in town. For those of you thinking “she spelt Tuesday wrong” I say “No, I didn’t.” You are just unaware that my favorite night of the week is Tubesday. It started when Natalie and I figured out that the tiny, hole-in-the-wall club known as “The Tube” happens to be a ton of fun on Tuesdays. Random right?
From then on out, Tuesday nights became known as “Tubesday”. Its the one night a week that Nat and I can go out and dance our asses off without worrying about:
a) coordinating plans with anyone else
b) waiting in line
c) paying for anything
d) finding parking
Plus, the people that hang out at the Tube are not really our type, and we aren’t really theirs. Which works out perfectly when dancing. This way you also don’t have to worry about creepers coming up behind you and having to give them the JennaMarbles face seen here:
If you live in Portland, I can’t guarantee you that Tubesday is for you. In fact, it most likely isn’t. The Tube may, and probably does, only cater to the special needs of these two crazy betches.

xoxo,
Kylie
